Stability of Stain

چکیده
An evaluation of the standardized Romanowsky stain of Marshall et al. has been made in a routine haematology laboratory. It was noted that this stain had several advantages over the May-GrUnwald Giemsa stain used in most British laboratories. These advantages include ease and speed of preparation, a shorter staining time, and reproducibility of results. These results are described in detail. The stability of the stock stain solution and of the 'working' stain (stock + buffer) has been studied by, respectively, thin-layer chromatography and visible spectroscopy. No change was detected in the composition of the stock solution at ambient temperature over a period of six months. Stability was unaffected by the composition of the container (polyethylene, PyrexTM,

Acquired port-wine stain is a rare vascular lesion that mimics a congenital port-wine stain clinically and histologically, but is acquired after birth. A survey on more than 60 reported cases in the literature reveals that most of these cases are idiopathic, but some of the cases developed after physical or mechanical trauma, hormonal changes, chronic sun exposure, and medications (OCP, i...

متن کاملEffect of firing on the color stability of a light-cured ceramic stain.
PURPOSE This study evaluated the color stability of four stains of a light-cured porcelain stain system between the light-cured and fired stages. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-six ceramometal discs 20 mm in diameter and 2 mm in thickness were cast to provide the substrate on which Ceramco II porcelain was applied. The porcelain was polished to a uniform thickness of 2 mm, and the samples were ...
